Social media is driving an insatiable hunger for the perfection of body image and it’s ideology of the perfect human being . In the logic of social media, one cannot deviate too far from the standards without risking humiliation and despair.

I explore the media’s influence on the behavior towards our human bodies. Particularly, the media’s heavy suggestion to conform our bodies to the current generation’s ideals. I use my works of glass and drawing to display the emptiness and weight of the pressures society pushes against us and along with experiences that I had personally. My pieces emphasize the sense of transparency and the feeling of inadequacy that is experienced by the body standards that have been altered due to according to the media. I use glass as a vessel to represent our skin that we wear as armor but is still quite fragile.
